Insularis is a photographic art project by Jonas Lindström, created on Öland — a place that holds great personal significance for him. The title Insularis, meaning "belonging to an island," captures the sense of isolation and inwardness that permeates the series.
Inspired by the forms of the body and the surrounding natural landscape, the project explores a poetic dialogue between these two elements. Through analog photography, a feeling of connection and reflection is created, with Öland’s unique environment serving both as inspiration and a symbol of physical and mental isolation.
Insularis is a meditation on solitude, presence, and the human relationship to place and self.
